Manufacturing process and quality control of spiral springs

From a coil of high-quality steel strip to a high-performance spiral spring, the manufacturing journey is one of meticulous control. The strip undergoes multiple rolling and annealing processes to achieve the desired microstructure and mechanical properties. Specialized winding equipment coils the strip onto a mandrel under preset tension, a process requiring precise control of the radius of curvature of each turn and the gap between adjacent turns. Subsequent heat treatment (tempering) eliminates internal stress, stabilizes dimensions, and imparts final elasticity.

Each batch of products undergoes rigorous performance testing, including torque-angle plotting, fatigue life testing, relaxation rate detection, and environmental adaptability verification. Only when the data fully meets design specifications can the product be delivered to demanding application environments. Quality control relies not only on advanced testing equipment but also on a deep understanding of material behavior and process parameters.
